Trinity Centre Pantry
About Trinity Pantry
Trinity Pantry started out as a small help service for those who had simply didn't have enough to eat or who had met with some temporary crisis and no funds. Over thirty years later, it is now a food assistance service providing for over 1000 people each year.
The pantry is entirely staffed by volunteers, and with only small amounts of state government funding, it depends predominantly on donations and contributions of food to help others.
Services available and
how to access them
The Pantry is located on the Church Street side of Trinity Hall; Church Street is between Ann and Wickham Streets, Fortitude Valley, near the Valley Pool and Police Station.
The Pantry is open Tuesday to Friday every week, from 11 am to 2 pm (except public holidays and January). Throughout January, the Pantry is only open on Thursdays from 11 am to 2 pm. If you are in need of help because of some crisis or hard times, you don’t have to make an appointment. Just come to the Pantry during opening hours and bring some identification.
There is a selection of non-perishable food available –
people coming to the Pantry select the things they need from a 'shopping list' and take the food home. There is no cost.
In addition, financial emergency relief is also available on Thursdays during the above opening hours. Limited financial assistance can be provided towards the payment of bills e.g. utilities (including electricity, gas, water, phone), rent, and some PBS prescriptions. Please bring the relevant bills along with payment details.
For general inquiries, phone 3852 1635.
How can you help?
The Pantry depends on donations and contributions of food to help others. Gifts of food –maybe a special collection at your workplace, school or parish – will help enormously. You can deliver goods to the Pantry during opening hours, or phone us to arrange a pick up. It is helpful if you give us some contact details so that we can thank you!
Donations to the Pantry, for both food and welfare, can be made to “Trinity Pantry”:
