No more illusions
My mother, approaching 93 became weaker, had trouble walking and could not dress herself. She could no longer read and gradually became blind, but she continued in her acceptance of reality, despite her decline.
To grow in maturity is to grow in the acceptance of reality; no longer to take refuge in illusions. It is to give thanks for what we have, instead of weeping over what we have not.
